I think we can all agree: everyone loves great food and killer drinks. Best Spots for Breakfast

• Winchell’s Restaurant and Bar. Let’s be real: Breakfast is life. It’s a local favorite with friendly staff, a comfortable dining area, and big portions. Their breakfast never disappoints, especially the biscuits, gravy, and fried bologna—my wife’s favorite.

You should also check out the special board when you walk in because you’ll likely find something unique and delicious.

• North Lime Coffee and Donuts. This restaurant is a personal favorite and it’s a must-try for coffee lovers. This cafe has delicious coffee, tea, and donuts. They have two convenient locations in Lexington—one downtown and one on Clays Mill Road.

• The Kenwick Table is another favorite breakfast spot in the friendly and walkable Kenwick neighborhood. It offers a variety of coffee, espresso, and local pastries.

Best Spots for Lunch

• Blue Door Smokehouse is a local legend. You can’t talk about Lexington without talking about barbecue. Imagine smelling brisket cooking from your front porch! They serve ribs, brisket, and pulled pork that will change your barbecue game. Pro tip: get the mac and cheese; it’s amazing.

• Peppers Mexican Grill is located just around the corner from Blue Door Smokehouse. If you’re craving tacos, this is the place for you. They use fresh ingredients, have big portions, and the skinny margarita hits the spot. My wife swears by their taco salad, and honestly, she’s never wrong about food.

Best Spot for Nightlife

• Shamrock Bar &Grill. This is one of my favorite spots to watch a game or catch up with friends. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows your name. They have over 20 varieties of beers on tap, so if you’re looking for a late-night snack, you won’t be disappointed; there are plenty of options.
